Murtha On President Bush's Speech

Johnstown —

It was a flurry of cameras and national and local media Wednesday in Johnstown as Congressman John Murtha once again took aim at the Bush white house and the war in Iraq.

"He's saying the same things, he is just making it look like he is changing," says Murtha.

"My most solemn responsibility is to protect our nation and that requires me to make some tough decisions," the president said in this speech on Sunday evening.

The president spoke to his critics, namely Murtha, on the reasons for war and the mistakes made. Congressman Murtha says that's not good enough.

"So far he hasn't changed. It is still an open ended strategy which has no exit."

And on the topic of Government wire taps use on Americans...

"This is outrages! This is very close to being illegal," Murtha says. "He (President Bush) said himself there would be no wire taps unless it was authorized by a court. This is what this administration does, which is so frustrating."

And at this rate Murtha says, his criticism of the Bush administration is far from over.

"I'm going to work to save every life that I can. I am going to work till we have an exit strategy."
