Bellefonte-based Nanohorizons is expanding its workforce and is expected to add up to 60 new jobs.
Nanohorizons accepted $975,000 worth of state funding and tax credits to expand the facility and to create the new jobs.
At the Penn Eagle Business Park facility, 20 employees were busy Friday manufacturing and testing antimicrobial products, which are used to make fabrics and surfaces bacteria resistant.
"It's been very helpful for the state to allow us to use funding to buy new manufacturing equipment, new lab equipment before we need it. Then, that will support the business growth," said David Woodle, chief executive officer of Nanohorizons.
The new positions are expected to be added over the next four years and Woodle said the majority will be high-tech and high-paying.
