CAMBRIA COUNTY, Pa. —

A Cambria County community is coming together for a local fire chief who has been battling a serious liver infection.

Recently, the Nanty Glo Fire Department served up nearly 700 dinners to help Fire Chief Joseph LaMantia Jr.

LaMantia has been off work for nearly two months after being hospitalized for the illness. He has been serving the community for more than a decade, and his fellow firefighters said it's a chance to give back to him.

All of the money raised will help cover LaMantia's medical costs.
