Neighbors: Child Playing With Sparkler Caused House Trailer Fire

Fire officials said neighbors reported that a child playing with a sparkler caused a fire that trapped a wheelchair-bound woman Thursday.

Neighbors pulled the woman, 52-year-old Debbie Kagarise out through the back door of her house trailer on Chevrolet Drive in Freedom Township.

Kagarise was airlifted by medical helicopter with burns and smoke inhalation. Her condition was not known Friday afternoon.

The trailer was destroyed and the fire was ruled accidental.
