Cambria County —
Last week graffiti was painted on a white fence on the property. Then Saturday bushes beside the house somehow caught fire. Finally, Monday night, fire fighters entered the home along Hystone Avenue in Upper Yoder Township, but had to retreat because of the intense heat. Tuesday, the state fire marshal started his investigation and can't determine its cause yet. He feels it started on the second floor, but the amount of damage is making it difficult.
"Investigations are always tough and there's a lot of debris on the second floor. A little bit of vandalism in anyone's neighborhood makes anyone nervous," says Upper Yoder Fire Chief Greg Town.
Investigators have to determine a cause before they can say it was indeed arson. However, one neighbor says there's no way that the fire was an accident. Officials say there were no witnesses, so it's all up to the fire marshal and science to figure it out.
