New Business Park Good News For Bellefonte

A groundbreaking ceremony was under way Monday afternoon for a new business park in Centre County near Bellefonte.

Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell and other dignitaries attended the event.

The Rockview Businesses Park will be located off of Benner Pike and is expected to bring dozens of businesses and jobs to the area.

The creation of jobs is especially important in light of recent economic setbacks including the fires at the Bush House, Academy Building and Victorian Manor Bed and Breakfast.

A Bellefonte coffee shop owner said she's looking forward to seeing the business park up and running.

"Anything that can bring attraction to the local Centre County would be awesome. (It would) bring people into Bellefonte, bring people into State College, draw attention to the local area," said Kim Reit of Cool Beans Coffee Shop.

Officials with Cleveland Bros. Equipment Co. said they will hire most employees for its new distribution facility from the local area.
