New Johnstown Fire Chief Announced

Johnstown —

Anthony Kovacic was appointed to the position Wednesday morning by City Manager, Jeff Silka. Kovacic was Deputy Fire Chief and was serving as Interim Fire Chief. He's been with the Johnstown Fire Department for 16 years in many roles including the first training officer. Silka says because of his work with the department, he was the perfect candidate so no search was needed. The former Chief, Mike Huss, left in March. The city is now searching for a Deputy Fire Chief, the position formerly held by Kovacic.
