CLEARFIELD COUNTY, Pa. —

Recently the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board announced a partnership with the Pennsylvania Winery Association.

The partnership will allow PA Preferred wineries to sell products in select Wine & Spirits stores in Pennsylvania.

According to the PA Winery Association there are more than 150 wineries.

Through the Department of Agriculture there are 75 wineries that are considered PA Preferred.

In Clearfield County, Starr Hill Winery is one local winery that is considered Pennsylvania Preferred.

Ken Starr, one of the business owners of the family-owned business told 6 News they are hoping to sell its products to the PLCB.

By selling products to the PLCB, wines made by Starr Hill could soon be sold in Wine & Spirits stores.

Starr said that this would be another opportunity to sell products outside of the local area.

"This is an exciting opportunity for PA Preferred wineries to share their best wines with a wide audience," Agriculture Secretary George Greig said. "When consumers purchase wine from local wineries, it makes a difference to local farmers, communities and our future."

Starr said he hopes to eventually have products sold in Altoona and State College.
