New Year Parties

Cambria County

For many in Johnstown the night started off with a New Years Eve tradition, dating back years...the Johnstown Chiefs hockey gameand what a crowd! Dave Taylor and his daughters haven't missed a Chiefs game on new years for 10 years and this tradition is highly recommended by many in Johnstown.

Dave says, It starts at 6:00. It's usually over at 9 or 9:30 and that gives you time for the adults to take the kids home and if the adults have something else planned they can go ahead and do something else.

Donna Moses says, It's good, clean, wholesome family fun and you get to root the Chiefs on.

While some were showing their team spirit, others were relaxing and eating dinner at a new restaurant, Barnes Stormers Pub and Grille at the Johnstown Airport. On the menu, great food, good drinks, live music and more...and speaking of music, party animals at the Holiday Inn in Johnstown sure know how to get down. This party is a tradition for the Ansell family. Every year about 30 of them get together to ring in the New Year. Their goal? To have fun and stay safe.

Carmella Ansell says, We choose to stay overnight so that no alcohol is interfering with driving home. When the kids and the elders drink, we just stay overnight and then there's nobody getting hurt in an accident.

Mary Ramirez says, We just love it down here. We have a ball.
