Word of Joe Paterno possibly being forced out as coach spread quickly on the Penn State campus.

For students at Paternoville, the tent city that appears before every home game, the news was disheartening.

"It's a dark day right now. Hopefully we can weather this storm I think JoePA is going to stay at the helm. I don't think he is going to resign, but if he did, that would be a sad day for Penn State," said Greg Burpee

Students in the tent village named after the legendary coach were staying on top of every detail of the ongoing scandal.

Lindsey MacFarland said, "I read the New York Times article and Scott Paterno, who is Joe Paterno's son, released a statement that the article was really premature and no retirement is being discussed with Joe Pa right now."

No matter what develops, the overall consensus is how terrible of an ending this would be for someone who has done so much for the university.

"It's really saddening because Joe Paterno is Penn State, and the contributions not just athletically, but academically to the university with all the donations, He has a library; he takes success with honor seriously and holds it dear to his heart," said Cory Sprankle.
