Nursing Home Bus Hits Tractor Trailer In Centre County

Only A Few Minor Injuries Reported

The bus driver told police his brakes failed as he neared a construction zone on Route 220-just south of Unionville, just before noon. The bus first hit a horse trailer, and then the back end of a truck. About 12 people from the Maplewood Manor were onboard, two of them were treated at the Mt. Nittany Medical Center. A horse was also injured, when the trailer was pushed off the road. The wreck shut down Route 220 for nearly an hour.
