SOMERSET COUNTY, Pa. —
According to the criminal complain obtained by WJAC Daniel Croyle grabbed his wife, threw her on the couch and floor and choked her, telling her he wished she would die.
It also said that Croyle admitted he had been drinking July 3.
State Police who are investigating the incident said there was a coffee table overturned and nic nacks all over the living room when they responded.
In the criminal report it stated that Croyles daughter verified that her father was hitting and choking her mother and she tried to grab him off of her.
Windber Borough Police Chief Rick Skiles said Croyle is a Corporal.
He said he works full-time with Windber Police and part-time with Paint Township Police.
"After speaking with the corporal he was suspended until action is taken by the court as a determination of where the charges are going," said Chief Skiles.
Croyle is suspended with pay.
Croyle is charged with assault among other things.
He will head to court for his preliminary hearing July 14.
