ALTOONA, Pa. —

A Blair County man was arrested Sunday after police said they found more than 600 bags of heroin at his home.

Brandon Thompkins, who investigators described as a large-scale heroin dealer, was taken into custody at his home on 14th Avenue in Altoona.

Police said Thompkins has only been out of jail for two months after serving seven years for drug crimes.

Authorities said the heroin found in Thompkins' home has a street value of $18,000. In addition to the drugs, officials seized more than $400 in cash, four handguns and drug packaging materials.

The raid was conducted by officials with the Blair County District Attorney's Office, Altoona police and an area drug task force.

Thompkins is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on Dec. 5.
