Ongoing Safety Concerns In Downtown State College

Related

Crossing the busy streets of downtown State College safely is an ongoing concern for state and local officials.

The Borough set up signs - designed to alert drivers of heavy pedestrian areas. PennDOT objected to the pedestrian caution signs and they were removed within a few weeks. State College has already tried to increase pedestrian safety with wider intersection curbs and crosswalks. Now PennDOT is looking into a study to coordinate the traffic lights in the downtown area.
