Organizers preparing for annual Chainsaw Carver Rendezvous

RIDGWAY, Pa. —

Downtown Ridgway is preparing for the busiest week of the year. 

Starting next weekend the 14th Annual Ridgway Chainsaw Carver Rendezvous will kick off downtown. 

Organizers said the event has grown so much in its years, that it is the largest chainsaw carving event in the world. 

Liz Boni, one of the organizers told 6 News that a lot of work will be done over the next 12 days. 

"From last week until now it just goes into high gear. Everybody you know is just busy, busy, busy," she said. 

This year's event will run from Feb. 16-Feb. 23. 

Boni said the weeklong event attracts carver's from all over the world. 

"We've had over 600 carver's here in the last 14 years from about 14 countries," she said.
