Pa. man gets 3-6 years for 2 DUIs, 1 fatality

By The Associated Press

INDIANA COUNTY, Pa. —

A man will spend three to six years in prison for two drunken driving arrests in 12 days, one of which resulted in a fatal crash.

Michael Doucette, 21, was sentenced Monday.

On May 7, 2011, Pennsylvania State Police said Doucette's sport utility vehicle crossed the center line of Route 286 in Center Township, Indiana County, killing 55-year-old Cloyd Ribblet Jr., of Clarksburg, whose pickup truck burst into flames.

A witness rescued Doucette just as his vehicle was also catching fire.

Indiana University of Pennsylvania campus police had arrested Doucette 12 days earlier on charges including underage drinking and drunken driving. Police said, at that time, Doucette was nearly three times as drunk as the law allows.

Doucette was also sentenced to four years probation after he is released from prison.
