Meyersdale —
Just one day after 5-year-old Anthony Leydig and his 3-year-old brother, Alyjah, were found in a chest in the family's home, the boys' parents are sharing their grief. Nathan Leydig says a published report outlining a criminal past from ten years ago is trying to overshadow the real tragedy of two little lives.
Nathan Leydig is the boys father. He says, 10 years ago my kids werent even here and now theyre gone and I cant stand people. I want people to leave me be.
Heather Baker is the boys mother. She says, We dont even know how were gonna get through it. Ya know, people are just making it harder and harder.
As we told you Wednesday the boys were found dead in a family chest or trunk, which had been used for storing linens. Thursday, Channel 6 News found one of the boys had bruising on his knuckles. The coroner would not say if that proves the boys tried to get out. Police continue to investigate the circumstances leading to the boys deaths.
