Passenger Counts Vary At Local Airports

ALTOONA, Pa. —

New numbers released by the Altoona-Blair County Airport Authority show fewer people are flying.

The report showed that 1,600 fewer passengers used the airport through the end of October compared to the same time last year.

Airport officials blame the economy and high ticket prices.

Meanwhile, the DuBois-Jefferson County Airport has had almost 500 more passengers this year. Officials there are pointing to Marcellus Shale drilling to the airport's success.
