Paterno’s funeral arrangements expected Monday; memorial grows overnight

By Bill Wadell

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. —

Final arrangements for beloved former head football coach Joe Paterno are expected to be released to the public Monday.

According to the Koch Funeral Home in State College, details about a funeral for the Paterno family and football players, as well as an anticipated public memorial, will likely be released on its webpage today.

After Sunday night’s candlelight vigil on the front lawn of Old Main, thousands of students, faculty, fans and alumni walked to the 7-foot-tall bronze statue outside Beaver Stadium to honor the 85-year-old.

Mourners and commuters continued to stop by the statue overnight and early this morning, leaving more candles, flowers and cards for the Paterno family.
