The Patton VFW is undergoing structural changes to its building. The VFW touches the hearts of families who have first hand ties to the military.

“These faces are not faceless. They are school friends, teachers, neighbors, and business owners,” said Melissa Nagle, a VFW member.

The VFW holds a special place in the community; not only because of the town’s past warriors, but also because of weddings and celebrations that once took place years ago.

Now Home Depot employees are renovating it across the area.  It is called the “Home Depot Foundation.”

They put money aside to give back to non profit organizations and other organizations throughout the years,” said Neal Waldron

He said that the organization exploded throughout the years. Between September 11^th and Veteran’s Day, workers complete projects to help veterans. The Patton VFW was on that list this year!

Jeff Nagle, a VFW lifetime member, mentioned that the Patton VFW needed renovations and the National Foundation approved his idea.

“ I was so excited. I came back, told my dad. I said, Dad we are approved! It happened really fast. I couldn’t believe it and because we believe in it so much, the face, it was a big deal. We are so excited we can’t stand still,” said Jeff Nagle.

“ Its like a rejuvenation. That’s exactly what it is. I am proud of everyone coming out and connected with this VFW. All of the veterans, who you see here and even social members who have helped out," said Chuck Nagle, a VFW member.

The ceiling will be lowered with new lighting fixture. The stage will be re-done, and the walls are going to be painted. The members of the VFW welcome new friends and families to join them in remembering past, present, and fallen heroes.
