Penn State student critically wounded after falling from 5th-floor apartment window

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. —

A 19-year-old Penn State University student remained hospitalized Monday in critical condition after falling from a fifth-floor window of a State College apartment building.

The incident happened in the overnight hours on Saturday. Police said the woman suffered multiple injuries when she fell 39 feet from the Calder Commons building downtown.

She was taken to Altoona Regional Health System, and police had not released her name as of Monday morning.

Police said it appears her fall was accidental.
