People Across The Alleghenies Hit The Malls For After-Christmas Sales

On the day after Christmas, many people are resting after all the fuss of preparing for the holidays. Others decided to hit their local shopping malls.

At the Galleria Mall is Johnstown, shoppers were busy, exchanging unwanted gifts and buying new items at a discounted price.

Many shoppers were surprised that there were not more people out shopping. Frank Solensky said, "It's eerie. I have been in the mall after Christmas, there are usually a lot more packed. I am hoping that later this afternoon, they will do much better."

Many retailers are slashing their prices, hoping to cash in with the end of the year sales.

In Blair County, shoppers credited the warmer weather for their shopping ventures.

Folks headed into the Kohl's at the Logan Town Center to make returns and exchanges, and also to take advantage of the after Christmas sales.

Peggy Pattillo, a shopper, said, "Sales are bringing me out today, gift cards, and the weather is a little warmer."

Many shoppers also said they were at the stores picking up things they didn't receive yesterday.
