People Out for a Snowy Sunday in Centre County

By Stef Davis

STATE COLLEGE, Pa

Quiet and calm--a picturesque scene as snow falls in State College Sunday. But for some...it means another day on the job.

Mike Terpak, snow plow driver, says, "I’m doing a lot of little work, two or three inches. But you got to get rid of it."

Mike Terpak is plowing out his boss' business in State College. He says though the area hasn't gotten a ton of snow so far this winter, it's gotten enough to keep him busy.

Terpak adds, “Yeah, it keeps me working."

And the snow is keeping kids busy in Centre County as well. While the winter weather may be all work for adults, it’s all play for the younger ones."

Griffin Josephs says, “My mom said my brother would go sledding with me so I said ‘What the heck?’"

Griffin josephs and his brother Cooper are taking a snow day sledding down some big slopes in State College. The brothers always look forward to flurries.

Cooper Josephs says, "Wheneverthere's snow on the ground we try to get out."

Out in the cold--that's exactly where lines of people are just down the street from the sledders. What could be this important to wait out in this winter weather? One word: waffles.

John Koritko, Waffle Shop regular, says, “Is it worth the wait? Waffle shop? I'm here three days a week. Any day you start off with a waffle is a good day."

And for dozens of people in Centre County, that's exactly what this snow day is--a good day.
