Philipsburg Hospital Auction Cancelled

Tuesday's scheduled auction of Philipsburg Hospital has been cancelled.

A spokesman for the auction company said attorney's cancelled the sale because potential buyers for the hospital have come forward.

The hospital and its contents were scheduled to be auctioned off so money from the sale could be used to pay off the facility's debts.

The hospital closed April 12 because of financial problems. The 25-bed facility had been the main healthcare provider for the Moshannon Valley, and many have been hoping that another healthcare provider would step in to purchase and reopen the building.
