Pitt-Johnstown begins $12M nursing science center

By The Associated Press

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. —

The University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown has broken ground on a $12 million Nursing and Health Sciences Building.

Officials at the school said 1,200 of the school's 3,000 students meet in older classrooms and laboratories scattered about the campus for classes on nursing, biology and chemistry.

The Tribune-Democrat of Johnstown reports the two-story building on which ground was broken Monday will be the central hub for all those courses.

The 26,000-square-foot building will house a dozen technology driven labs and other space, including two large classrooms and faculty offices.
