Plowing Strategies

Cambria County —

Penndot reports that all 43 trucks are out in Cambria county. Penndot has two crews who work 12-hour shifts during storms so roads are being cleared 24-hours a day. Local municipalities only have one crew so plow truck operators end up working 15 to 18 hour shifts with only an 8-hour break for sleep. Since this storm is to be slow moving, they are bracing for a test of endurance.
