Plyler's At Your Service destroyed from early morning fire

By Brittany Boyer

BROOKVILLE, Pa. —

A Jefferson County business is destroyed following a fire along Race Street in Brookville.

Crews were dispatched shortly after 9:30 a.m. to Plyler's At Your Service.

Jim Lipuma, chief of the Brookville fire department said that everyone got out of the building OK.

Officials said one employee was welding inside the business when he noticed the fire.

Lipuma said once crews arrived on scene they initially could not go into the building.

"There was diesel fuel and a bunch of different accelerants that were actually exploding inside the building. We also had main lines feeding the building. Electric lines were burning as wells as tension lines overhead that were on fire," said Lipuma.

Plyler's At Your Service has been in Brookville since the 1990's.

Officials said they clean air ducts for local businesses and large corporations like Walmart.

Lipuma said the building is a total loss.

Officials said a concern right now is if the company wants to rebuild. Lipuma said the business is located on a flood plain.

The fire is being investigated by the fire marshal.
