STATE COLLEGE, Pa. —
Court documents show 26-year-old Shawn Meeker is facing terroristic threats, reckless endangerment and assault charges.
According to police, Meeker was tailgating another driver on College Avenue in College Township just before 4 p.m., before pulling up next to the car, pointing a handgun at the driver and taking off.
“It’s terribly alarming,” said State College police Capt. Dana Leonard. “It escalated where one party decided it necessary to produce a handgun to make this threat, which is an alarming threat."
Officers caught up with Meeker 8 miles away at the intersection of Benner Pike and Route 550 in Bellefonte.
They said they found a semi-automatic handgun.
Meeker was jailed with bail set at $75,000.
Police said no shots were fired in the incident.
