Police Charge Former Security Guard For Computer Theft

Police believe a Johnstown man is responsible with stealing 94 computers from a local business in January.

Police charged 26-year-old Nathan Binnie for stealing nearly $50,000 worth of computers from Intermedia Marketing on Broad Street.

Binnie was a security guard at Intermedia Marketing. Police said he quit his job after officials there realized the Dell PCs were missing. One of the computers stolen was sold to an undercover officer.

Police said other people were selling them for Binnie, but he admitted to stealing them.

Police recovered 12 computers so far. Binnie told police he burned about 80 of them in the woods, but police are still investigating.

Police are stressing for people to come forward now if they bought one of the stolen computers. If police find someone with a stolen computer, they could face receiving stolen property charges.
