Police Chief Recovering After Attack

A Cambria County police chief is recovering after he was hurt by a suspect.

According to a police criminal complaint, Chief Dave Dunkleberger was responding to a domestic dispute at an apartment in Luxor Gardens when he was stabbed by Jeremy Brehm in the right hand and right leg with a 12-inch knife. Brehm ran away from the scene after the attack.

Dunkleberger told WJAC in an interview that he fractured a finger and received stitches for his leg injury.

Dunkleberger was able to radio other police officers about the incident. They found and arrested Brehm not too far from the scene.
