Police: Gunfire Erupts In Blair County Town

ALTOONA, Pa. —

Area police are still searching for three gunmen who they said are believed to be armed and dangerous.

The shooting happened along the 1500 block of 12th Street in Altoona just after 1 a.m. Wednesday.

Police told Channel 6 News that the three men walked into a house and shot a man at close range.

The victim was taken to Altoona Regional Medical Center. There was no word on his condition as of Wednesday afternoon.

The shooter is described as a black male, 5 feet 6 inches tall, with a thin build and last seen wearing black.

The other two men are described as black, around 5 feet 10 inches tall, and also wearing black. Police said they were seen in a tan Toyota Camry.

While police worked to piece together a motive, neighbors said they remained on edge.

"It worries me because there are children in the neighborhood and I don't want to see anyone getting hurt," said Madeline Mowery.

Anyone with information is asked to call Altoona police at 949-2489.
