Police In Somerset County Still Searching For Teenager They Believe Set Fire To Old Hotel

It's been a month since flames knocked down the Old Grand Central Hotel in Hooversville and police are still trying to track down who's responsible.

The Hooversville Police Chief told WJAC-TV everything leads him to believe Jeremy Kubas, 18, of Hooversville, intentionally set the fire. Flames quickly spread to a nearby apartment building across the street where Jason Oldham and his young daughter were sleeping. They both made it out OK but emergency crews spent hours fighting the blaze and cleaning up the mess.

Fire crews nearly depleted the town's water supply. It took more than 160,000 gallons of water to put out the blaze. People living in the area had to conserve water for almost a week.

Police believe Kubas ran away from home. He is 6 feet tall and has red hair. If you think you know where he is, call police at 1-800-362-5060.
