Police Make Arrests In Rash Of Burglaries

Tyrone police and state troopers arrested two male juveniles late Wednesday in connection with a rash of burglaries in the area.

The teens are charged with burglary, auto theft and criminal mischief.

They are still looking for Timothy Bogel, 18. Bogel faces similar charges on top of corruption of minors.

Officers arrested the juveniles at a home in the 600 block of Washington Avenue. Police had issued a search warrant for the home last week. Inside they found evidence that linked the teens to the seven burglaries from the past week.

Thieves struck Puff & Snuff and Cowfer's Custom Design in Tyrone, Oct. 21. In the same night, Tyrone Subs and Six Pack Shop, Jeano's Pizzaria and the Bottle Shop in Snyder Township were also burglarized. State Police are investigating those shops.

Sunday, thieves struck Rossi's Corner Store off Old Route 220.

Tuesday morning, thieves burglarized the Snappy's in Snyder Township.

Both agencies worked closely as state police launched their helicopter in the air and police officers followed a dog from the K-9 Blood Hound Unit on foot.

Business owners say their damages range from $1,000 to $5,000.
