Police Pursue Burglary Suspects On Foot, By Air

Tyrone police and state troopers made a big break Wednesday in a rash of burglaries in Blair County.

They was an intense manhunt in Tyrone Wednesday afternoon.

State Police had their helicopter in the air.

Neighbors said the suspects stored a four-wheeler in the woods. During the pursuit, police had to determine if the suspects were on foot or on the four-wheeler.

They said the rain helped them spot tracks in the mud.

The pursuit started after a neighbor called police to an abandoned trailer at the Logan Ridge Court mobile home park in Tyrone.

Moments later, State Police launched their helicopter and the K-9 Bloodhound Unit was called in.

At this point, police believe the men are connected to burglaries at Puff & Snuff and Cowfer's Custom Design in Tyrone, Oct. 21. On the same night, Tyrone Subs and Six Pack Shop, Jeano's Pizzaria and the Bottle Shop in Snyder Township were also burglarized. State Police are investigating those shops.

Sunday, thieves struck Rossi's Corner Store off Old Route 220.

Tuesday morning, thieves burglarized the Snappy's in Snyder Township.
