Police Respond To 145 Incidents At Penn State Saturday

Officials said the Big 10 opener for the Penn State Nittany Lions and their fans was a big dud, despite a nationally televised whiteout at Beaver Stadium on Saturday.

After the game, a university police sergeant said officers responded to 145 incidents, 99 of which were alcohol and football related.

While the number may seem high, Sgt. Brian Bittner said it was below average for a night game and said steady rain may have helped control the crowd.
