Police Searching for Armed Bank Robber in Elk County

By Stef Davis

JOHNSONBURG, Pa

Johnsonburg police on their toes Tuesday, getting called here to the County National Bank on Market Street for a serious situation.

Chief Bryan Parana, Johnsonburg police, says, "Upon arrival, there was a suspect that had fled the bank. It wasn’t observed by police, but had robbed the bank by gunpoint and left with an undetermined amount of money."

Police say the robber fled on foot with quite a few witnesses getting a good look at him.

Chief Parana adds, "The suspect is described as a white male, 5 foot 11, light skin, partial facial hair. He was wearing a dark bandana and a grey hoodie.

And in the small town of Johnsonburg, this big time crime is grabbing a lot of attention.

Tanja Kennedy, Johnsonburg, says “There were police cars all behind me. They all headed for the bank. Next thing i know they were saying the CNB bank had an armed robbery.”

KJ's Cafe is right across the street from the CNB bank. People there watched with shock as the ordeal unfolded. They say this type of crime is few and far between in Johnsonburg. And though the robbery is surprising, many are chalking it up as a one-time crime.

Josh Feronti, KJ’s Café, says, "I don’t think I’ll be changing anything. Johnsonburg is a good town, good place, lots of good people here."
