By Melanie Gillespie

CAMBRIA COUNTY, Pa. —

A sporting goods store in Cambria County is not only out more than $300 after a theft, but police said someone also tried to cash a check made out to the store.

Shomo's Sporting Goods in Reade Township told police a woman, 28, went through the store's mail, took a money order and tried to sign the owner's name in hopes of cashing it.

Police said she wasn't able to do so, but could be facing theft and forgery charges.
