Police: Woman operated prostitution ring from Blair Co. Spa

By Maria Miller

LOGAN TOWNSHIP, Pa. —

A woman is facing federal charges for allegedly using a Blair County spa as a prostitution operation. But on Tuesday her lawyer told 6 News she is innocent.

Police said the spa operated for years as a brothel in disguise. Federal agents said they walked in on a sex act during a raid. Investigators have been looking into the Sunset Health Spa onPleasant Valley Boulevard in Logan Township for the past few years.

The criminal complaint is 25 pages long and details an elaborate operation involving young Asian girls from out of state, brought to the region to work as prostitutes.

The owners of the alleged brothel are identified in federal court documents as Steve Park, of Georgia, and his wife, Yon "Coco" Park, who lives at the spa.

According to court documents, three confidential informants gathered evidence that shows the women who worked there performed sexual favors on clients in exchange for cash. At least one of the confidential informants was trusted to hold onto envelopes for the spa. Court records show some of those envelopes contained daily business logs, green cards and cash.

6 News talked to the attorney for Coco Park Tuesday. Thomas Dickey said it's too early to jump to conclusions.

"Just because those allegations are written on paper doesn't make them true," said Dickey. "You have to look at the evidence, evaluate the evidence, see what's credible and what isn't."

6 News also reached out to prosecutors, but didn't hear back. Coco Park is charged with a single count of transporting someone across state lines for the purposes of prostitution. She's free on $10,000 unsecured bail.
