JOHNSONBURG, Pa. —
Rick Jacobs said he was surprised to see what looks like the legendary creature on photos he took in September. After sending the photos to the Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization, representatives there told him they believe the image is that of a juvenile Sasquatch.
Jacobs said he showed the pictures to park rangers in the Allegheny National Forest where the pictures were taken. Rangers there said the animal is likely a skinny, mangy bear.
Some Clearfield County residents said they were intrigued by the photos.
"By the pictures it's really hard to tell, but it doesn't look like anything I've seen before," said Debra Nestor.
According to hunting and animal experts, there are bears that look similar to these images.
"It could by a ridge-running bear," said Wayne Wynick, of the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources. "These bears are very lean and look very skinny."
Experts agree that the images are not a hoax.
"There's no way a human can bend like that, and put their head between their legs," said Bob Grimminger, who owns Bob's Army and Navy in Clearfield.
As the debate continued as to what the animal is, Jacobs said he can't release the exact location of his potential find because the bigfoot organization is worried people will destroy the animal's habitat.
