Penelec First Energy estimated 4600 customers were still without electricity in Somerset as of 6 pm Tuesday. 1400 were out of power in southern and northern Cambria County. Officials say with this storm hitting so early in the year, it presented numerous challenges.

"It is scary because it kind of reminds me what we had a couple of years ago with the ice storm. When you have heavy precipitation on top of Autumn leaves, it draws the tree limbs down and makes contact with our facilities," says Murphy Montler, Penelec Area Manager.

Electric companies from Indiana and Blair Counties, as well as crews from Ohio Edison, will be heading to the area to assist in the power outages.

In some areas, power is not expected to be restored until Wednesday.
