Powerball Problems

Johnstown —

The problem wasn't in Pennsylvania but in Iowa. Officials there couldn't confirm Lottery rules were being followed correctly. Lottery rules require each state to have 2 computerized copies of the winning numbers. One goes to state vendors while the other goes to the state office. But Iowa couldn't confirm they had theirs so the drawing was delayed by Lottery officials.

Customers in Johnstown were asking about the problem Thursday morning but not shying away from buying a Powerball ticket. Judy Kautz sells them at the Em's Sub Shop on Goucher Street. She tells Channel 6 News, "a lot of companies that go together, they pull money together and they might come in Friday to miss the crowd. Saturday will probably be a really big day."

Because no one won Wednesday night's drawing the Powerball is now worth $215 million. The next drawing is this Saturday night on WJAC-TV.
