Prison Guard Could Spend Time On The Other Side Of The Bars

An area prison guard will be in court next week on charges of assaulting an inmate.

John Owens is a Lieutenant at the Centre County Prison. He's accused of grabbing a prisoner by the throat, and then hitting him in the face. Owens is currently suspended without pay, and county administrators say they'll wait for the outcome of his case in court before deciding whether to change his job status.
