Prison Guard Loses His Job

Centre County —

The Centre County Prison faces more problems as a prison guard, who tested positive for drugs, is now out of a job. County administrators confirm for Channel Six News that Jeremy Woodring resigned late last week after testing positive for marijuana. Woodring was relatively new on the job as a corrections officer, but he is also involved in another prison staffing problem. Woodring testified in court to seeing Prison Lt. John Owen use excessive force on an inmate. Owen remains suspended. It's uncertain if criminal charges will be filed against Woodring.
