STATE COLLEGE, Pa. —
Penn State trustees plan to weigh the recommendations of the state auditor general to change the school's governing structure in the wake of the Jerry Sandusky child molestation scandal.
Auditor General Jack Wagner released his report Wednesday. Among his recommendations was the removal of the university president as a voting trustee.
Trustees began two days of regularly-scheduled meetings Thursday. Trustee James Broadhurst said leaders spoke briefly with Wagner by phone before he released his report. Trustees might also meet with Wagner in person.
Trustees chairwoman Karen Peetz said the board is awaiting similar recommendations from the faculty. They've already received recommendations from former FBI director Louis Freeh, who led the university's internal investigation into the scandal.
Peetz says they will consider all the reports as they determine how to proceed.
