Public meeting for proposed landfill in Clearfield Co. scheduled for January

By Brittany Boyer

CLEARFIELD COUNTY, Pa. —

For the last six years a company has shown interest in putting a municipal waste landfill in along Route 153 in Boggs Township, Clearfield County.

PA Waste LLC., submitted an application for a permit several years ago.

In 2008, DEP denied a permit. The company filed an appeal and soon after tried again.

Officials tell 6 News, PA Waste is currently in the technical review phase of the permit application.

After hearing concerns in recent years, DEP has decided to grant the county a public hearing.

The hearing is scheduled for Jan.22 at the Lighthouse Church in West Decatur at 7 p.m.

County commissioners encourage everyone to attend.
