Public Transportation To Help 'Thunder' Fans Get Around

Thousands of motorcycles will soon roll into Johnstown for the annual Thunder in The Valley.

The popular four-day festival draws visitors and locals alike, but for those not riding motorcycles, there's still an easy way to get around.

Camtran will be offering free rides and there will be a downtown loop service that runs Thursday through Sunday. Buses will be dropping off and picking up passengers at Central Park, Biker Mall, the library and the inclined plane.

There is also a free park-and-ride where people can leave their cars and catch a bus to Central Park. The service will run Thursday through Saturday.

The annual motorcycle rally gets bigger every year, both in attendance and geographically. This year, the nearby communities of Nanty Glo and Windber have organized events as part of the rally.

Organizers said they are still in need of volunteers, especially from 9 p.m. to midnight. Interested persons should call 536-7993.
