Quick Winter Storm Causes Traffic Accidents

JOHNSTOWN —

It was a close call for a Johnstown driver and a homeowner tonight. Icy roads prevented the driver of a SUV from braking, sending it over an embankment and nearly running into a house along Wess Street in Dale Borough. The driver of the SUV wasn't hurt, but a tow truck had to be called in to pull the car out.

The homeowner says this is a yearly occurrence that has cost him thousands of dollars in damages.

And in Somerset, snow and slush covered roads contributed to an accident that sent three people to the hospital this morning. Somerset State Police say a car and a SUV collided on lake road late this morning. No word on the victims' conditions.
