Report: Treasure Lake secession not recommended

CLEARFIELD COUNTY, Pa. —

It's been an ongoing effort by Treasure Lake in Clearfield County to secede from Sandy Township and be incorporated as its own separate borough.

But now, Treasure Lake's proposal has hit a major snag.

According to the Courier Express, three members from a five-member panel who were appointed to study the secession plan have recommended it be denied and that all litigation in the matter stop immediately.

The majority of the panel said going forward with the effort would be detrimental to both sides.

The final decision is still in the hands of Clearfield County Judge Frederic Ammerman, who will take the report into consideration
