RUSH TOWNSHIP, Pa. —
The club is located in the Black Moshannon State Park.
Bureau officials said there was contamination at the site from lead ammunition.
The club had been used for more than 60 years.
Club officials said the site is not contaminated and want it reopened.
They added that experts have examined the club for contamination, finding very small lead levels in a small area of the club.
State Rep. Matt Gabler, R-75th Legislative District, and U.S. Rep. Glenn Thompson, R-5th District, have joined their fight, asking the Bureau of State Parks to allow the club to reopen.
DCNR officials said they're hopeful this situation can be resolved.
They declined to comment on a timeline for the club reopening.
