Residents Split On New Elk County Social Hall

FOX TOWNSHIP, Pa. —

Officials in one Elk County community are looking into spending $3 million to building a new volunteer fire department social hall.

The hall would be operated by the Fox Township Volunteer Fire Department.

The Fox Township supervisors approved the funding at a recent meeting.

But township officials indicated that there are some legal concerns surrounding allocating that money.

They'll revisit the issue at their next meeting in January.

Residents are split on the plan and opponents claim a new social hall could hurt local businesses.
